Shale Heterogeneities at the bed scale, with implications on reservoir and completion quality: Woodford shale case study, Ardmore Basin, Oklahoma
Abstract
Sometimes rock characterization models may be difficult to translate into useful parameters to assess reservoir and completion qualities of shale resources. Usually this happens when results are delivered as qualitative interpretations, rather than quantitative descriptions. This work presents an integrated but simplistic rock characterization model for the Woodford Shale of the Ardmore Basin in Oklahoma. Quantitatively we investigated lithological and stratigraphic heterogeneities across a complete Woodford outcrop section (340 ft.) in south central Oklahoma.
