Abstract

A method of evaluating a hydrocarbon containing-subterranean formation from drill cuttings.

This method may be particularly useful for evaluating the hydrocarbons entrapped in the cuttings. The method includes releasing, capturing, and measuring hydrocarbon materials. The results of the analysis can be used to place hydrocarbons to the well bore, Geo-steering, stimulating, and perforation designs.

The total gas curve and chromatography data acquired from the cuttings results in the ultimate gas curve for a lateral well bore.
