Environmental Ethics and Ethics of Environmental Geoscientists

Abstract

Environmental ethics can be viewed in two manners with one that is centered around anthropocentrism and the other being naturalism. With these views how does this affect the ethics for the environmental geoscientist? A brief look is taken at the role that the environmental geoscientist plays in society and how his ethics are affected with the role he plays for his client. A look at rules and regulations from state agencies are examined to see the legal ramification of the licensed professional and the issues it causes for ethics.
