Abstract

The Mid-Cretaceous Wasia Formation (Albian to Cenomanian) represents one of the most productive hydrocarbon megasequences in the Middle East. Selective integrated studies in the region have documented the tectonic and eustatic-related paleography that influenced the spatial distribution of these reservoir depositional systems. In Saudi Arabia, similar efforts have focused on assessment of the Wasia sequence stratigraphy utilizing well data, but limited studies have incorporated 3D seismic sequence stratigraphy, to evaluate spatially variable upper Wasia 3rd order carbonate depositional systems.
