Abstract

The Wajid Group is a Paleozoic siliciclastic succession ~ 600 m thick in the outcrop belt of southern Saudi Arabia. The siliciclastic sediments have great reservoir potential for hydrocarbons and for groundwater. They are only roughly dated, mainly through sequence stratigraphic surfaces (erosional unconformities) traced into the better dated subsurface equivalents.
