Abstract
The Permian Khuff C Formation is an important regional carbonate gas reservoir. In eastern Saudi Arabia, the Khuff C was deposited in a broad tidal flat environment preserving interior to open marine sediments ranging from sabkha and lagoon to shallow peloidal and oolitic shoals. Diagenetic events have impacted the Khuff C sediments altering their reservoir quality. Enhancing porosity and occluding porosity in some facies, resulting in a complex relationship between depositional facies, mineralogy and pore types.
