Distribution of Late-Diagenetic Dolomite in Permian Host Rock in the Jebel Akhdar Tectonic Window, Northern Oman

Abstract

Reservoir properties of limestones can be significantly altered by burial dolomitization, which warrants careful investigation of this not fully understood diagenetic process in reservoirs. This project focuses on late-diagenetic dolomite bodies in Permian host-rock outcrops in the central Oman Mountains as a potential surface analogue for dolostone reservoirs in the Middle East.
