Successful application of existing and new fluid treatment technologies to address the challenges for reuse and recycling in oil and gas is a function of the employed technology; its’ application and operation; and the definition of operators, regulators, and the public. Indeed a balancing act that requires a solid foundation in the technology and comprehension of the associated variables. These aspects need to be well understood to navigate through the decisions and actions required to mitigate liability, control costs, and meet environmental expectations. The presentation will discuss the steps required to assemble treatment systems to meet the requirements for reuse and recycling. In addition, the issues that will need to be addressed, once the systems are in place and operating. The end result will be a defined methodology that can be used as a basis to achieve a successful treatment of fluids, as defined by operators, regulators and the public.
