ABSTRACT: Reservoir-Scale 3D Sedimentary Modelling: Approaches and Impact of Integrating Sedimentology into the Reservoir Characterization Workflow

Integrating fine spatial scale sedimentological heterogeneity is an essential step in improving the precision and accuracy of static reservoir models and volumetric calculations. This paper demonstrates the quantitative impact of introducing sedimentological information constrained by a high -resolution sequence stratigraphic framework on: (1) geocellular-based reservoir models; (2) Boolean-based reservoir models; and (3) acoustic impedance and fault-property models.
