As acquisition costs for 3-D
seismic surveys have more
affordable, many more companies are venturing into the
3-D
realm.
The purpose of this discussion is to outline a logical process for
management and explorationists to determine whether to shoot a
3-D
seismic survey and what type of parameters to utilize in doing
so.
There are a large number of issues to be considered in such a
decision and they are often broad brushed in the rash to jump on
the 3-D
band wagon. It is the intention of this paper to explore
many of the questions that should be addressed in making a
3-D
decision.
