Abstract: Holocene Development of the Southeastern Texas Coast, Sabine Lake Area, from Foraminiferal Biofacies

Laura B. Stewart, Robert A. Morton, Martin B. Lagoe

Sediment cores from the Southeastern Texas coast were analyzed for foraminifera, in an effort to better understand the evolution of the Texas chenier plain. Foraminifera are rare to absent in three cores taken from the highstand interfluve marsh deposits between High Island and Clam Lake. In contrast, Holocene deposits from three chenier plain cores contain abundant foraminifera.
