Abstract: Marietta Basin Update

The Marietta Basin and adjoining areas produce oil and gas from rocks of Pennsylvanian, Mississippian, Devonian and Ordovician age. Several fields are discussed in this paper as to the type of trap, exploration techniques, and results of the exploration effort. Emphasis is placed on the role of the independent geologist in generating, assembling and selling prospects.
