INCORPORATING Previous HitSEISMICNext Hit DATA INTO A MULTIVARIATE DATA ANALYSIS OF THE WOLFBERRY IN THE MIDLAND BASIN

Abstract

Fasken Oil and Ranch, Ltd. a Midland, Texas privately held company and Drilling Info recently entered into an agreement to work together with a large robust data set containing engineering, geological and Previous HitseismicNext Hit information over the next two years. Well data comprises open and cased hole logs, completion information, core data, 4 years of history production data, and recently acquired 3-D Previous HitseismicNext Hit data. These data are being integrated to determine the best practices to optimize the Wolfberry Play of the Permian. The data set includes more than 1900 wells with production history of with 50 plus horizontal. Fasken has more than 600 sq. miles of contiguous merged and reprocessed Previous HitseismicNext Hit data. The Previous HitseismicNext Hit data has pre and post stack inversion applied to it.

Over the next two years items to be investigated include Previous HitverticalNext Hit versus horizontal wellbores, well spacing and landing targets, conventional vs unconventional reservoir targets, and completion practices. In this presentation we will look at high grading conventional targets and generating a porosity volume. On the engineering side we'll look at how production on a lease fluctuates over time with the increase in density of Previous HitverticalNext Hit wells. Utilizing rock properties of the Previous HitseismicTop data, wells logs and production analysis this study will hopefully find the golden nugget to high grade the best places to drill in today's low price environment.
