Reservoirs Characterization of Deep Water Sediments on Example of Oil Field, Western Siberia
Abstract
Deep water marine sediments are attractive target for many oil and gas companies. However, due to differences in lateral and vertical heterogeneity of them, the analysis is quite complex process. Achimov formation was deposited during the middle Jurassic and is widely distributed on north part of Western Siberia. In this paper, the authors will present seismic interpretation of Achimov formation of Western Siberia of Russia, using joint inversion, separating the cemented sandstone, clay and reservoir in area. For this purpose, Poisson impedance was applied. The result of research demonstrates that the proposed method can be used for other areas.
