Abstract

The conventional approach for interpreting data used to be confined to a 2D environment. Advancements in computing and Previous HitvisualizationNext Hit technologies now allow geoscientists to visualize, interpret, integrate and Previous HitmodelNext Hit in a full 3D Previous HitvisualizationNext Hit environment. The desktop Previous HitvisualizationNext Hit environment is limited to desktop hardware which includes physical memory, CPU, graphical processing units (GPU) and generally limited network bandwidth. The size of large merged 3D seismic volumes and giga-cell geological models require an enormous amount of physical memory, CPU and GPU resources for Previous HitvisualizationTop, interpretation and modeling. To support these challenges a new Linux virtualization environment was established.
