Abstract

Petrophysical Previous HitpropertiesNext Hit of carbonate reservoirs are less predictable than that of siliciclastic reservoirs. The main reason of this situation is physical and chemical interactions of carbonate rocks with pore fluids. Such interactions can significantly change Previous HitelasticNext Hit Previous HitpropertiesNext Hit of Previous HitrockNext Hit matrix and/or grains making applicability of Gassmann’s fluid substitution procedure debateable. The reasons of inapplicability of the Gassmann fluid substitution theory to carbonate Previous HitrockNext Hit are not fully clarified. To understand that, it is necessary to find out how fluid affects the Previous HitelasticNext Hit moduli of carbonate Previous HitrockTop minerals.
