Abstract

As the search for petroleum has intensified attention has shifted to more challenging (i.e. deeper and more complex) targets. A key component of exploration is the acquisition of Previous HitverticalNext Hit seismic profile (VSP) surveys, for which the increase in target complexity has coincided with higher requirements for VSP operations, in particular for data with higher amplitudes and a wider Previous HitbandwidthNext Hit. Although acquiring data with a wider Previous HitbandwidthNext Hit is often an objective of modern VSP surveys there is little evidence as to how much Previous HitbandwidthTop is enough.
