ABSTRACT: An Upper Cretaceous, Marine Source Rock Objective In South Africa

In the last decade, upwelling has become recognized as a major mechanism for deposition of petroleum source rocks. This paper will examine the likelihood of Late Cretaceous, marine source rocks being present offshore South Africa in the Orange Basin, in the vicinity of Global Energy Holdings, LLC - Block 3B/4B.
