ABSTRACT: Primary Migration and Oil Commercial Accumulations Inside the Fine-Grained Source Rock Formation

Fine-grained oil-prone the Bazhenov source rocks from West Siberian Basin contents about 2.0x109 commercial oil reserves "in situ". Each unusual trap is rather small (ab. 10 to 100m crater) and keeps only 5.000 to 150.000 tons of oil, but traps located very often along big faults. Cross-roads two faults is the best place for concentration of oil pools with huge daily production up to 1200 m3/day per well. The richness of the Bazhenov source rocks, primary migration mechanism, abnormal pressure, petroleum generation and microfracturing, macrofractures distribution, trap formation and the scale of oil accumulations in fine-grained source rocks will be discuss.
