ABSTRACT: A new overpressure-generated mechanism--uplift, in Tarim Basin

Although three classes of overpressure-generated mechanism have been presented and discussed so much, and undercompaction and fluid expansion are considered the main mechanisms in sedimentary basins, we found that huge uplift should be the proper overpressure-generated mechanism in Tarim Basin,China,where the highest pressure coefficient is 2.04.
