Abstract: Previous HitSequenceNext Hit Stratigraphic Interpretation of a Mature Basin: Eastern Niger Delta Case Study

A regional transect running through acreages of several companies has been studied to provide a seismic-Previous HitsequenceNext Hit stratigraphic Previous HitanalysisNext Hit which would form a model for studying other transects in the Niger delta. The study also refined the interpretation of depositional history, environments and formed a basis for corroborating work done on lithology distribution in the eastern part of the Niger delta.

The study is based on interpretation of twelve key wells: KI-1, KR-1, KB-1, KA-1, Tubu-1, Asaramatoru-1, Yomene-1, Korokoro-1, Afam-1, Ngboko-1, Oza-1 and Obuzo-1 and involved mostly 3D seismic interpretation, Previous HitwellNext Hit Previous HitlogNext Hit data Previous HitanalysisNext Hit, stacking patterns, biofacies and biostratigraphic data Previous HitanalysisNext Hit tied to seismic

The model suggests the overall stacking pattern of depositional elements is the sedimentary fill of successive megastructures. Also downward shifts of facies suggests the possibility of reservoirs at depths below current Previous HitwellTop penetrations.
