Abstract: Well Log Evidence For Winters Sand Channel Cutting and Filling

Numerous Cretaceous-age surface examples exist which document turbitite sand channels that cut into underlying sediments. However, few examples document these channels in the subsurface. This paper documents the cut-and-fill nature of a sand channel in the Starkey-Winters Depositional System located on the prodelta section of the system. The area of study is located in Section 36, T7N-R2E, Mount Diablo Base And Meridian, North Millar Gas Field, Sacramento Basin, California.
