Abstract: The Geotectonic Atlas of Northwest Germany 1:300,000

KOCKEL, F., R. BALDSCHUHN, and U. FRISCH

The atlas consists altogether of 17 parts, now available in 2 cassettes:
- Subcrop Previous HitmapsNext Hit of formations beneath Lower Cretaceous
and beneath Tertiary or Quaternary 1:300,000, in 4 sheets,
colored
- 13 Previous HitstructuralNext Hit contour Previous HitmapsNext Hit of geological horizons from
base Middle Miocene to base Zechstein, all in m below m. s. l.,
1:300,000, in 4 sheets, black and white
- 140 geological Previous HitcrossNext Hit Previous HitsectionsNext Hit, 1:200,000 in 7 plates: col
ored, together with a Previous HitstructuralNext Hit overview and location map of
the geological Previous HitsectionsNext Hit, 1:500,000, in 2 colors

The atlas will be completed by an outline of the paleogeographic and Previous HitstructuralNext Hit development of northwest Germany, a morphological and genetic description of the approximately 800 individual structures and comprehensive references since 1950 (about 3,000).

The Previous HitmapsNext Hit are based on geological and geophysical data from about 75,000 deep wells as well as on about 1,000,000 km of reflection seismic lines of different quality. The majority of this unprocessed data has been made available by the German oil industry. In addition published and unpublished special and regional surface mappings and reports by the Geological State Surveys have been used. A uniform seismic velocity concept for the entire region has been employed.

The atlas provides a comprehensive and standardized Previous HitstructuralNext Hit database of the deep underground of northwest Germany.
