Abstract: Study on Mechanism and Control of Slope Instability Induced by Underground Previous HitMiningNext Hit Abstracts

XU, QIANG

The high increase of Chinese economy greatly stimulates the demands to energy and mineral resources, and thus promotes Previous HitminingNext Hit industry prosperity. In this process a lot of environmental and hazardous geological problems are produced, especially the slope instability and mass movements due to underground Previous HitminingNext Hit. Since 1980s a series of this kind of geological hazards happened in China and brought about heavy losses of human life and property. Therefore, it is very essential to study the mechanism of slope instability, and provide the principles of prevention and control of slope failure because of underground Previous HitminingNext Hit. In this subject following main research contents are involved: (1) mechanism of interaction between underground space of Previous HitminingNext Hit and instability of above slopes; (2) stress field, slope deformation and failure laws resulted by underground Previous HitminingNext Hit; and (3) prevention and control principles of slope instability.

The technical clues and methods about above studies can be summarized as follows: (1) by field survey of some typical examples of slope instability induced by underground Previous HitminingNext Hit, establishing the basic geomechanics models of slope instability; (2) studying the stress field and displacement variation of slopes with the formation and gradually extension of underground Previous HitminingTop space by numerical simulation such as finite element method; and (3) based above studies, finding out the mechanism of slope instability, and putting forward prevention principles and control measures.
