ABSTRACT: A New Regional Appraisal of the Previous HitCoalNext Hit Resources of the Henry Mountains Previous HitCoalNext Hit Field, Emery, Wayne, and Garfield Counties, Utah

Data were compiled at a 1:100,000 scale for a new, regional, resource assessment of the two major Upper Cretaceous Previous HitcoalNext Hit zones the Henry Mountains Previous HitcoalNext Hit field. These two Previous HitcoalNext Hit zones are in the Ferron Sandstone and Muley Canyon Sandstone members of the Mancos Shale.

The more widespread Ferron Sandstone Previous HitcoalNext Hit zone covers a 50-ft-thick interval near the top of the member, and consists of one to four Previous HitcoalNext Hit benches. The Previous HitcoalNext Hit has an aggregate mapped thickness ranging from 2 to 16.5 ft; however, except in three limited areas, none of the individual Previous HitcoalNext Hit benches exceeds 4 ft thick. Previous HitCoalNext Hit resources for areas where the aggregate Ferron zone Previous HitcoalNext Hit is greater than 2 ft thick are 742 million short tons.

The stratigraphically higher Muley Canyon Sandstone Previous HitcoalNext Hit zone is limited mainly to the Garfield County part of the field, where it is the thicker, more persistent Previous HitcoalNext Hit zone. It covers a 150-ft-interval within the Muley Canyon (formerly Emery) Sandstone Member, and consists of one to eight Previous HitcoalNext Hit benches. The Previous HitcoalNext Hit has an aggregate mapped thickness ranging from 2 to 20.4 ft. Most of the area underlain by this zone has at least 5 ft of Previous HitcoalNext Hit, and about one-half the area has 10 ft or more of Previous HitcoalNext Hit. Previous HitCoalNext Hit resources for areas where the aggregate Previous HitcoalTop in the Muley Canyon zone is greater than 2 ft thick are 1406 million short tons.
