Seismostratigraphy and Neotectonics of Ligurian Sea

A complete seismostratigraphic and structural stratigraphy of the Ligurian Sea and surrounding marine areas is presented. Thickness, characteristics of the Pliocene-Quaternary, and tectonic phases pertaining to these levels are particularly emphasized, showing that the present physiographic order of the region depends on neotectonics and Pliocene-Quaternary sedimentation. The Miocene evolution of the basins is also described and documented with some particularly clear seismic profiles.
