The Application of Fluid Flow Analysis in Evaluating Reservoir Connectivity

Faults are often critical aspects of reservoir models. Though they represent a relatively small volume of the model, they can have a great impact on the reservoir's permeability and drainage pattern.

The concept of transmissibility multipliers across fault would be used to avoid having to model the fault volume explicitly. The discrete properties of the reservoir would also be used to determine sand volumes connectivity. These methods are used as input to the simulation and visual assessment of the sealing potential of faults.
