Utilizing seismic data with high resolution properties is necessary for detailed and accurate delineation of potential reservoir. But, generally, the available bandwidth of the data is inadequate to image or resolve the thickness of many thin targets seen in wells. Therefore, need a method to improve vertical seismic resolution.

This final project tests some methods to increase seismic resolution with high frequency enhancement technique using Reflection Coefficient Log data and VSP (Vertical Seismic Profiling) data. Basically, three methods are using matching filters principle. First method is based on matching filters between an average seismic spectra and VSP corridor stack spectra, named as Spectral Matching. Second method is based on matching filters between an average seismic spectra and Reflection Coefficient Log spectra, named as Spectral Blueing. Third method is based on shaping desired spectrum using average seismic spectra as a reference, named as Spectral Shaping.

Those three methods were applied to migrated seismic volume. Result shows more detail reflection, increase seismic bandwidth, resolve the thickness of many targets seen in wells and better match corridor stack. In the final stage, it is considered best method to enhance seismic data resolution.
