Many geochemists stressed the natural conversion data should be includes to calibrate the laboratory measured kinetical parameters in basin and.petroleum system modeling, However, geological calibration of laboratory derived kinetic parameters may be bampered by fact that no homogenous source rocks intervals can range the whole oil window, and heterogeneous source rocks exhibit very scatter geochemical data(HI,TI,PI) due to variation of both maturation and organic facies. We have revealed that universal covariant relationship of HI and TOC exist for lacustrine source rocks, HI appears to increase with increasing TOC, asymptotic to 650-700mg/gTOC for above 3 wt% TOC lacustrine mudstones in immature phase, HI distribution and activation energy are peculiar for different TOC interval (0.5-1%,1-2%,2-3%,more than 3%) mudstone. Therefore, The trend of HI,TI,PI with depth(or temperature ) for organic-rich(TOC more than 2% or 3%) source rock can be used to calibrate kinetic parameters because these data have eliminated or diminished the factor of organic facies variation. ROCK_EVAL parameter(HI,TI,and PI) are direct measure of natural HC generation, HC generation models from kinetic parameters in Kinex software must match measured HC generation trend of HI,TI,PI. Case studies, including Songliao basin, Baihai bay Basin and Pearl River Mouth River Basin, will be presented to illustrate abundant ROCK_Eval data used to calibrate kinetic model for petroleum generation. Various known model( BP,IFP, LLNL,Shell ets) have been compared by fitting kinetic parameter to the ROCK_Eval data , The data from Baihai Bay Basin fitted best with the Pepper and Corvi (1995) lacustrine source rock model.
