ABSTRACT: Controls on the Structural and Stratigraphic Architecture of Syn-Rift Sequences, North Falkland Basin, South Atlantic

The Falkland Islands (Las Islas Malvinas) are located in a critical site for our understanding of Gondwana supercontinent break-up. Recent frontier exploration activity has allowed the integration of a unique dataset (seismic surveys, exploration wireline logs, a syn-rift core sample, petrographic thin sections, plus major and trace element analyses) enabling the structure and stratigraphy of the North Falkland Basin’s syn-rift to be determined.
