Abstract: A Review of Um Chaimin Crater, Circular Features and Ring Structures of Iraq Yield Hydrocarbon Exploration Targets

IBRAHIM, M. W., Target Exploration Consultants, London, UK

Summary

A survey of possible impact structures and circular features in Iraq led to the recognition of a prospective pre-Silurian elliptical ring structure over 100 Km in diameter.

Similar structures have been mapped in the Arabian-Nubian Shield; other prospective subsurface ring structures are probably present in intra-cratonic basins around the Shield.
