Abstract: Important factors of development strategy of old hydrocarbon fields

SLAVIN V.I., M.D. BELONIN, R.S. SAKHIBGAREEV

Investigations of the fields which were exploited for tens of years have shown that the regime of their exploitation did not take into consideration rock plastic (irreversible) deformations. So, the irreversible decrese in porosity by 13.6% of the Kirmakin Formation took place in the process of pool exploitation during 20 years on the Balakhani-Sabunchi-Ramanin oil field (Azerbaijan).

Irreversible deformations generated during continuous disturbance of optimum depressions on a bed result in pool breaking into a chaotic system of small parts, each of which is characterized by its permeability. If flooding is used during exploitation, decompaction takes place in the most permeable complexes and fractures. The increased values of radioactivity in comparison to rock matrix radioactivity on radioactive log are characteristic of the decompaction.

In connection with the above-stated, the following technological scheme of field exploitation is recommended. The picture of the irreversible deformation formed as a result of pool development, undesired forced regimes, is represented on maps and in cross section.

On radioactive log the boundaries of the bed decompaction zones are determined and the parts containing fluid which must be recovered are distinguished. The conditions for individual exploitation of each delineated part are evaluated by means of studying sealing (cementation, plugging) of the decompaction ways.
