Mechanic-Electrical Stimulation of Degasation Coal Seams and Enclosing Rocks

Stepan O. Lyzoon, Igor M. Kourovets

Principles of degasation gas enclosing rocks by means of influence their electric and mechanic fields have been stated. A number of mechanisms of gas liberation from fixed state have been regarded proceeding from physical-mechanic nature interaction of gas and solid phase connected, first of all, with absorption processes.

Mechanic energy has a property to initiate the subsequent processes: gas bubble cavitation, clearing of micropore medium, flaking gas molecules from the surface of solid phase.

Theoretic relations were received, on their basis the estimation of distribution energy of seismic pulses in layered medium having been given. Energy values are shown to be sufficient to generate the indicated mechanisms.

Initiative action of electrical fields is based on stimulation of gas relieved processes in open and closed pores. In such case, increasing of gas pressure and wall erosion of canals and pores takes place, that results in capsule opening and extension of micropore canals. Thereby, conditions for additional gas emanation are formed. Theoretical estimation of values generation fields parameters has been given, and these are shown to be located within the limits that can be achieved for real conditions.

Experiments with utilizing cryovacuum conditions proved the regularity of theoretical relations and allowed to study the major relationship of the process electric-stimulated degasation of coal substance.

Carried out researches should be regarded as bases of elements technology degasation of rocks by means of influence of external fields.
