The lower most zones on the Ivishak reservoir contain large volumes of oil. BP, Exxon, and ARCO, the major interest owners of Prudhoe Bay field, recognize that detailed reservoir description is an essential component of planning and managing recovery from these complex deltaic rocks.

These companies have put together a group of geologists, geophysicists, petrophysicists, computer experts and engineers--the Razor team--charged with developing a consensus description of this interval. The final objective of this work is to produce a single set of data and tools for use by all companies involved in the field.

This display documents some of their technical efforts, including: detailed geophysical mapping within the reservoir, the construction of a chronostratigraphic reservoir subdivision the development of petrophysical databases and tools and the correlation of such data with the surveillance information.
