ABSTRACT: The Way I See It ... The Decade of the `90's

In the last few years, unstable oil and gas prices have forced the oil and gas industry to take a critical look at how corporations deliver bottom-line value to the stockholders. This exercise has yielded decisions that have included dramatic reductions in staff and significant high-grading of services and properties. Now that these exercises are near completion, the industry as a whole must set about delivering the intended benefits. It is not clear what effect the dramatic change in the companies' infrastructure will cause, but it is apparent that a different approach to delivering technology will now be required and it is this area that will experience the greatest cultural change.
