Petroleum Geology of HZ/21-1 Oil Field, People's Republic of China

G. Mercati, Z. Bukui

The HZ/21-1 oil field in the ZHU 1 depression of the Pearl River mouth basin is an accumulation in a multilayer sandstone reservoir of early Miocene tidal and marine depositional environment. The horizontal and vertical continuity of the reservoir is relatively constant and its petrophysical parameters are of the highest quality in the central part of the structure. The oil, in a reservoir strongly water wet, is derived from mixed organic matter and tends to be undersaturated, waxy with a high pour point. The development drilling activity is planned from a subsea template with one-string type of completion.
