Royalty Relief Opportunities in the Pacific Outer Continental Shelf Region

Abstract

Objectives: Royalty Relief Opportunities in the Pacific Outer Continental Shelf Region. Procedures: Procedures explained on how to apply for royalty relief in the Pacific Outer Continental Shelf Region, with pre-qualification lists for End of Life Relief and Special Case Relief. Results: Examples of recently terminated royalty relief in the Pacific Outer Continental Shelf Region – including potential revenue gained/saved for the operator, what the reduction rate was, what costs were saved, production status, and reasons for termination. Conclusions of the research: Opportunities of potential End of Life Relief applications and Special Case Relief projects that would that fulfill the lessee’s lease obligation of economically maximizing oil and gas production from their field as in the best interest of the United States.
