Shell’s 4‐decade Deep Water Development Journey as Seen from Brazil: Technology, Integration, Scale

Abstract

This presentation starts with describing Shell's Deep Water development journey over the past 4 decades, portraying the path travelled through pushing development frontiers time and time again that eventually led to our current-day, privileged global Deep Water portfolio. It discusses how the resilience of the present-day portfolio overall was increased over the past few years through Competitive Scoping and the application of Technology and Innovation, further putting the spotlight on some recently entered or expanded basins with major growth potential like offshore Mexico and offshore Brazil (Pre-Salt, Santos basin). It discusses examples of ongoing technology programs aiming to drive and enhance competitive growth going forward.
