Abstract

This study, based on the integration of regional geology with gravity and magnetic modeling, has determined the Previous HitcrustalNext Hit type, Previous HitstructureNext Hit, and depth to Moho for the Eastern Mediterranean Basin. Three (3) gravity models have been generated showing the different Previous HitcrustalNext Hit types associated with the rifted Levant margin and oceanic crust. Further, there is strong evidence for translational / transpressional boundaries between the extended continental and oceanic crusts. Mapping the Previous HitcrustalNext Hit thickness, Previous HitcrustalNext Hit type, Previous HitcrustalTop boundaries, and depth to Moho is extremely important to understanding the tectonic evolution of the basin and its impact on hydrocarbon generation.
