The petroleum generation processes in the Jurassic strata in the Polish Lowlands
Abstract
The Jurassic strata are significant source of hydrocarbons in the World's basins. In Europe, they form one of the major petroleum systems. In the Poland the best hydrocarbon potential have shales of the Middle Jurassic strata – Aalenian and Bajocian, and Upper Jurassic strata – Kimmeridgian and Tithonian. The study area is located in the Polish central part of the Southern Permian Basin (Fig. 1A). This basin is called Upper Permian-Mesozoic Polish Basin (To view Fig. 1B go to Search and Discovery).
