Abstract

As we know, fracture has one of the important things to arrange the hydrocarbon system, because it has a significant share in reservoir fluid flow. New different tools and methods has introduce for detecting fracture which constructed the hydrocarbon system its self, Due to the economical consideration, image logs are not available in a hydrocarbon field, only have Well testing gas, and petrophysical log data. in this paper, we suggest a model to estimate fracture density of basement from the conventional well logs using a fuzzy inference system.

This research is located in two areas, Jambi sub-basin on South Sumatra Basin and East Jiwo hill, Bayat, Klaten as the outcrop analogue. East Jiwo hill is selected as outcrop analogue because it is an ideal outcrop of basement uplift and suitable for Jambi sub-basin analogy. The outcorp analogue and subsurface data are used to discovering hydrocarbon reserve around the fractured basement which is indicated as reservoir rock. The hydrocarbon potential on the fractured basement that is discovered is gas (0.2-1 MMSCFD with 87.8%CO2).
