Abstract

Log data such as density and sonic data from wells pertaining to single basin may be used to derive dynamic Previous HitelasticNext Hit Previous HitconstantsNext Hit such as compressive strength, Poisson’s ratio and Previous HitelasticNext Hit Previous HitmoduliNext Hit for the formation rock. Additionally, static Previous HitelasticNext Hit Previous HitconstantsNext Hit may be determined through lab testing of core samples derived from the same set of wells; this predictably yields values differing typically by a factor of 1.5 - 2 from the dynamic Previous HitconstantsTop.
