Abstract

This paper will provide an overview of the successful micro seismic monitoring of a massive hydraulic fracturing operation in a field in South Oman. Integration of fracturing levels in the treatment well and the micro-seismic results from the monitoring well have enabled early integration and aided our understanding of massive hydraulic fracturing in the field. The early micro-seismic results from a number of fracture treatments has confirmed and improved our understanding of fracture length, height and direction and has been used to instantly enable optimisation of subsequent fracturing designs.
