Fully Sampled Wavefields: Soon a Reality?

Abstract

Can you imagine the benefits the Oil & Gas Industry would get if we were acquiring fully sampled wavefields (FSW)?

Our industry has been measuring physical properties of the earth by sampling continuous wavefields in time and space and is therefore subject to sampling theory constraints. So, why discuss this nearly century-old theorem, posed when the first seismic experiments were taking place?
