Abstract

The ground motion response spectrum has often been utilized for purpose of evaluating the response of structures to earthquake ground shaking. Due to inherent theoretical simplicity and ease in its computations, the response spectrum concept has long become the standard tool of structural design and performance assessment. These spectra are termed design response spectra.
