Microseismic Monitoring of Hydraulic Fractures: Engineering and Geomechanics Applications

Norm Warpinski
Pinnacle

The talk will use examples from microseismic monitoring of hydraulic fractures to illustrate how fractures interact with the reservoir and the well completion. Examples will show interaction with natural fractures, hydraulic fracture height growth, interaction with faults, completion problems, general fracture behavior, and what can be learned from the microseismicity itself.
