is the most valuable asset and contributes a major share of any organization’s GIS implementation. Saudi Aramco’s Upstream GIS implementation has evolved over the past decades into a most reliable GeoSpatial data sharing infrastructure. A wide variety of data-driven applications catering to the needs of occasional users, regular users & power users from exploration to producing business lines. The return on investment (ROI) on the company’s significant investment in the mining of geospatial data & technology is clearly visible. The highly accurate and centrally stored geospatial data enables efficient and secure access to vendor and in-house developed Geospatial applications. The Upstream user’s are leveraging the benefits of overlaying surface and sub-surface data together to decipher new geo-relationships and make more informed decisions. This paper highlights the challenges involved in geospatial data managements and benefits of making geospatial data available anytime anywhere in most secured manner.
