Exploration works presented in the paper concentrate on tectonic and stratigraphic Silesia Unit, the eastern part of the Polish Outer Carpathians, that is regarded as a prospective region for hydrocarbon exploration. The Carpathian overthrust is built of strongly folded and cut by tectonic zones flysch sediments characterized by high differentiation of petrophysical parameters, therefore, the interpretation of the structures beneath the overthrust is difficult and requires the use of other than seismic data. The gravity surveys supplemented with results of magnetotelluric soundings, supported the reinterpretation of 2D seismic data. A velocity model constructed for the Pre-Stack Depth Migration (PSDM), converted to density-depth grid and submitted to forward or inversion modeling was processed based on minimizing the misfits between model and measured gravity field. Results applied for correction of velocity model for next stages of PSDM helps constructed a right velocity model and the real seismic/structural image.
