The tectonic evolution of the Moesian Platform caused the development of a complex faults network that was very important in the hydrocarbons migration and the entrapment. The well data and 3D seismic research in Bilciuresti field (situated in the central part of the Moesian Platform, near the contact with the Carpathian Foredeep) demonstrated that Bilciuresti field is a complex faulted monocline. The structural and litho-stratigraphic traps are the result of the regional evolution of the platform, combined with local events during the tectonic over-thrusting of the Carpathian Units. Map Analysis (Dip, Azimuth, Edge Detection, Differences) was very useful in detection of differences in dip across a horizon and in showing the faults as a contrast between the dip magnitude of the faults and the dip magnitude of the horizons. Maps have been drown up across the field and extended area at different stratigraphic levels (from Triassic to Pliocene) characterized by high acoustic impedance and good seismic reflectors. The interpretation of the “Map Analysis” results demonstrated the relationship between the Permo-Triassic extensional periods and WNW-ESE fault systems, the post- rift Jurassic evolution and the strike-slip deformations, a strong erosion hiatus or non-deposition after Laramic movements (Eocene-Lower Miocene), an inversion in the subsidence axes in Savic movements followed by an active subsidence during Sarmatian, and an overwhelmed of the subsidence by the sedimentation rate during the Pliocene-Quaternary evolution . The establishment of the hydrocarbon content and the context in which the reservoir rocks are developing was very important in resources management.
