Strategy of Exploration of the Nonconventional Resources- Study Case: Reggane Basin (Algeria)

The potential of the nonconventional resources of oil and gas are significant, but remain little exploited considering its high economic cost. The rise of oil price has improved the economy of these resources and encouraged the companies to invest. In this context, it is imperative to determine the minimal threshold of the volume of these nonconventional resources and the maximum amount of investment of exploration and of the development for an acceptable economy of the project. Our application is related to the basins of the Western South Algerian (Reggane/Tindouf Basin). We carried out an economic evaluation of the projects with and without integrating the nonconventional resources and determined the limiting thresholds so that profitability is acceptable.
